Originally published in 1907, Old Indian Days contains Eastman’s recollections of life among the Sioux. Studies of daily life, struggle, war, and peace, including the 1862 Sioux Uprising, make up the majority of this collection, as well as retellings of such classic Native American myths and legends as “The Singing Spirit” and “The Love of Antelope.”
