Truth or Dare

When the receding shore of Lake Sanguis reveals a skeleton in a canoe, a 10-year-old cold case involving a missing camp counselor is once again on the front page. Ella Takeda, a former true-crime podcaster who’s now interning for a PI, starts investigating, and finds that her brother, Oscar, the town sheriff, and boyfriend, Jude, were counselors that same summer and might know more than they’re letting on especially about a dangerous game of Truth or Dare they played the last night of camp. It doesn’t help that Oscar was dating the counselor and they had a big fight the night of her disappearance.

Worse, now counselors from that same summer are disappearing, one by one. Oscar and Jude could be next. Is the murderer of the counselor covering their tracks? Or could the culprit be Old Man Mud, the murderous ghost who famously haunts Lake Sanguis, loving to target liars and cheats? Ella’s in a race against time to find the killer before they strike again.
