George Herbert Powell (1856-1924) was an English scholar, tutor, and barrister. He wrote Animal Episodes and Studies in Sensation (1896); The Crown Prince’s First Lesson Book, or, Nursery Rhymes for the Times (1914); Occasional Rhymes and Reflections Upon Subjects Social,Literary, and Political (1892); and Dueling Stories of the Sixteenth Century from the French of Brantôme (1904).
